L1 – Montpellier-PSG (0-1), the cheat sheet: even when it is less flamboyant, knows what PSG win – Eurosport.fr

The game: without Pastore, Paris struggled

PSG had displayed such mastery in his first two outings it is almost surprising to see him crack. Deprived of Marco Verratti, the capital club rested Javier Pastore to organize his game. Except Argentina, hit in the calf, only spent 10 minutes on the field. Convincing so far, Paris has changed its face.

Past the midline, Laurent Blanc’s men have struggled to make a difference. The Montpellier defense is for many, but not only. Parisians seemed borrowed, breaking the rhythm to try to find an opening. At times, the parallel with PSG last season’s hesitant start was particularly egregious.

Players: Cavani ghostly, Matuidi had (yet) take over

It’s starting to become boring and even downright disturbing. Still without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paris has evolved with Edinson Cavani at the forefront of the attack. Again, the Uruguayan was disappointing. Muzzled by a sharp Vitorino Hilton, down from its 37 years, he never found the right tempo to get his first goal of the season in the Championship.

Like every week since the resumption, Blaise Matuidi pulled his team out of the rut. The tricolor medium shot Ligali left from a tight angle, as against the Gazélec last Sunday. Opposite, Montpellier has had some opportunities, but he could not expect much with the waste displayed by Anthony Mounier and Ryad Boudebouz.

What could have changed everything

Kevin Trapp had not had much to do since coming to PSG. Some even wondered what was really worth the German goalkeeper. The match in Montpellier has enabled him to bring the answer. At the 49th minute, a free kick from Jonas Martin arrived at the head of Ramy Bensebaini. Leather has headed for the top corner, but Trapp is relaxed and out of its cage. A class action.

The tweet that disorganized PSG

The declara: Laurent Blanc (PSG coach)

“We did not get the win in the serenity, it was even the most difficult since the beginning of the championship “

The issue:. that PSG would it take three points last year

Clearly not. Paris would probably not win this match against Montpellier. Uninspired front febrile finishing guilty on some cons héraultais, Parisians showed the well known symptoms early last season. A time when PSG had conceded six draws the first nine league games, mostly having led the scoring.

This time it is not caught in a trap. But the context was everything to help the men of Laurent Blanc to fall back into their through. The absence of Marco Verratti and premature exit Pastore left Paris orphan of his creative players. The waste of Cavani-Lavezzi Lucas-trio would have been enough to make him doubt his ability to win this game.

Yes, but Paris has strengths that he did not have last year. Unlike last season, Blaise Matuidi is already in the rhythm. For PSG, is a priceless and this has not escaped Laurent Blanc. “Blaise has physical qualities very well above the average, he launched at the end of the meeting. I count one more person who can score, I take it! ” The Parisian defense showed, too, another face in adversity. Sometimes fever, especially in the first period, she no longer left no space after the opening of the gained score. And that is a huge difference with PSG 2014/2015.
