OM could have taken more. The LFP Disciplinary Commission decided Thursday to impose Olympique Marseille part two matches behind closed doors following incidents in the match played against Lyon Sunday, September 20, as part of the 6th day Ligue 1 (1-1). OM also fined 40 000 euros and a closed session suspended.

In detail, the LFP disciplinary committee “decided the Virage Sud closing the Stade Velodrome for two matches, one for revocation of the suspension and the Virage Nord for a game.” The two corners were closed as a precaution during the match against Angers (1-2), as part of the 8th day of L1, only the Virage Sud is still closed for the receipt of Lorient Sunday ( 14:00).

The OM-OL meeting was interrupted twice, including a break of more than 20 minutes, because of firecrackers and throwing beer bottles on the lawn of the Velodrome, the use of pyrotechnics, one who touched a player, and the exhibition of a gallows with the image of Mathieu Valbuena, today in Lyon after playing in Marseille for eight seasons between 2006 and 2014.

The Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas had demanded strong sanctions after these incidents. “As long as the Stade Vélodrome is not secure, it must be suspended, had said the president of the OL OL TV on the day after the meeting. I also think that sanctions sports, such as the withdrawal points are dissuasive. ” The LFP is not got there. OM, 16th in Ligue 1, will not complain.
