The Brennus back in Paris – Sports.fr

Eight years after his last Brennus Shield, the French stage becomes champion of France thanks to his win on Saturday at the Stade de France, after a final trial and without closed against Clermont (12-6). The indiscipline and clumsiness of his strikers have killed the ASM. Paris won his 14th national title.

It’s 50-50! ” Even this great superstitious Max Guazzini will spoil at kickoff, getting wet before this final TOP 14 . Yet they were so numerous to think that it could withstand the irresistible Parisian dynamic already fatal in this final stage to rivals Racing 92 and proponents of Toulon Rugby Club … A passion and a youth who settle as with the notorious complex Clermont in the final. Even the inexperience of the young Parisian wolves, embodied by their coach Gonzalo Quesada, youngest coach of the elite, did not seem to represent a significant handicap time to go tu the Brennus Shield.

Illustration in the first period, when Clermont seems the wrong fight. We were expecting the game between these two teams carried on the offensive, he is killed by a commitment by each moment passes ASM terminals, accumulating a whopping nine penalties in the first forty minutes (15 in total!), including a yellow card for the man of the dirty work Julien Bardy, guilty of an illegal tackle on Waisea (14th). And Nick Abendanon, rather than reported in his usual style, just missed letting his team to thirteen for “taken” Sergio Parisse in the air (23rd) …

swear that they no longer tend the other cheek in the final, Auvergnats do not master this aggression surplus. “We have to be a bit quiet on the intensity …” , can only note the coach Franck Azema the micro Canal +. But Mr Pascal Gaüzère has no choice but to intervene and offer Morne Steyn, the top scorer in the finals, three kicks as fine South African trigger knows materialize (15th, 22nd, 29th). When to make matters worse the Clermontoises business, Morgan Parra wandered his first two attempts (5th, 26th) … Especially regrettable that the strategy succeeds Clermont even briefly, to read the defense of Paris and offers action most dangerous to Aurelien Rougerie. But the final pass three-quarters center to send Abendanon test is tainted by a preliminary (33) … Rare Clermont satisfaction of this first period, eight years after another lost final against Paris on a test to finish the Wallaby Radike Samo? That may be the exit wound giant Hugh Pyle, only Australien Parisian side, who answers the replacement hooker John Ulugia Clermont side. But surely the first points that Camille Lopez at Parra relay, registered just before the break (3-9, 37th).

I’m really proud of my team. I sincerely hope this is the beginning of a new era for the club.

Sergio Parisse (No.8 and captain of the French stage)

A show at this point undisciplined, Clermont can not expect anything. But are not the two penalties conceded in the second half of input that may reassure the Yellow Army … Mr. Gauzère is obliged to call to order the captain Damien Chouly. The salvation of ASM is the awkwardness wins Steyn, failed on his first two attempts after the break (45th, 51st). The Springbok seems out of his final inexplicably, when Azéma operates a strong choice with the return of Brock James at the expense of Lopez once again disavowed (52nd).

This is the flip-flop in the final. Paris loses the thread, like his opener. And James input is distinguished with that first penalty transformed sanctioning Pascal Pape at fault on a Clermont maul (6-9, 62e). Abendanon and Fritz Lee finally let speak their legs. Especially the seat conquest Parisians crumbling with the third ball lost in the line behind which James is given the ball the Australian equalization rate … (71). A final balloon ripped by replacement hooker Laurent Sempéré and kick this time adjusted by Steyn (6-12, 80th): the case is heard. With 40% success for his strikers and such indiscipline, Clermont could not expect better than eleventh final loss. Where the French stage, fourth in the regular season and play-off, found the top of the TOP 14 with a 14th Brennus Shield to the key. Chapeau!
