Roland Garros: the semi-final Djokovic-Murray interrupted by … – The World

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray had to leave the court Friday night and interrupt their semifinal because of a storm. The Serb was preparing to serve in the fourth set (6-3, 6-3, 5- 7, 3-3)

The semi-final between n o World 1 Novak Djokovic and Briton Andy Murray, n o World 3, only resume on Saturday, June 6 13 hours after being stopped in anticipation of a storm. The Serb was preparing to serve in the fourth set (6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 3-3). The final lady between Serena Williams and Czech Lucie Safarova is scheduled the same day, 15 hours.

The Swiss Stan Wawrinka, who won earlier in the afternoon Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (6-3, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4) will wait for the name of his opponent for Sunday’s final.

The “Djoker” attempts this year to win the only Grand Slam missing from his list. This is already tilted twice in finals (2012 and 2014), each time against Rafael Nadal … he just released this year in three sets in the quarter-final stage.

Andy Murray produced the best season of his career on clay (already two titles, Munich and Madrid). A win tomorrow, it would be the first Briton to reach the final of the Internationaux de France since Bunny Austin in 1937.

After having dominated the discussions during the first two sets, one imagined the Serbian way for efficient and quick victory. But in the third set, the protected Mauresmo has more intensity in his strikes to achieve breaker Djokovic at 5-5 after two magnificent points – including a forehand passing shot. The Serb was tense, has made some unusual mistakes and lost the third set 7-5.

Before the interruption, the fight was physical in the fourth inning between Murray and n o 1 worldwide. The two men accused the coup physically. The British ceded the outset break, but glued to the score immediately taking advantage of unforced errors from Djokovic. At 3-3, the outcome of the set seems uncertain before resuming Saturday.
