Queen’s: Nadal already out – Sports.fr

Stuttgart Tournament winner Sunday, Rafael Nadal will not double the design Queen’s. Upon his entry into the race, the Spaniard was beaten Tuesday by Alexandr Dolgopolov (6-3, 6-7, 6-4).

Rafael Nadal was not too difficult to negotiate the transition from clay to grass. But the Spaniard missed the transition from Stuttgart grass to that of the Queen’s. Less than 48 hours after its title in Germany, the fourth of his career on grass, Nadal was beaten upon his entry into the race in the London tournament. It must be said that the double Wimbledon champion fell on a tough in the person of Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov (6-3, 6-7, 6-4).

When it exploded, in 2011, notably by reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, we thought Dolgopolov became the thorn in the circuit, with its atypical game, made incessant changes of pace, chips in all directions and slapping forehand. Finally, the Ukrainian is somewhat fallen into line, without finding the necessary stability to settle permanently in the world’s top 20 (he was 13th in April 2011). But the “Dog”, 75th World this week, is still capable of strokes of brilliance. Nadal, who had paid to know last year at Indian Wells, has again had bitter experience.

In a hard match (and exciting), Nadal has yet released anything. In front of some distinguished guests, Jose Mourinho and King Juan Carlos, Nadal thought he had done the hard part by winning the tiebreak in the second set (8-6), after saving a match point three points earlier. “Rafa” even led 4-2 in the third before collapsing, and suffer the return of that devil Dolgopolov. That nevertheless an unexpected setback for Nadal, it was thought revived after disposal at Roland Garros. Simple accident? Response in two weeks at Wimbledon.
