NBA. Final: Golden State is just one title win – Ouest-France

For the first time since the start of the final 2015 Stephen Curry justified his status as the best player of the season and Golden State knocked out Cleveland (104-91), Sunday, maybe for good.

The Warriors are 3 wins at 2 and no longer needs a success to clinch the fourth NBA title in their history, the first since 1975

LeBron 40 -. Curry 37

With 37 points, Curry is still remained in the shadow of LeBron James who scored 40 points and won its second “triple-double” (40 pts, 14 rebounds, 11 assists) in this final, 6 th of his career at this stage of the competition. But “King James” may well deliver probably the best final of his career and accumulate records including his eighth game with over 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, which puts it on par with Oscar Robertson, it could leave empty-handed, and perhaps as early as Tuesday after the match n o 6 in Cleveland.

This match n o 5 further illustrated the fragility of the collective of “Cavs” and their extreme dependence on their star. The Cavaliers were even playing with the Warriors for 44 minutes but when Curry found his insolent address to register 17 points in the last twelve minutes, Cleveland could not see the damage.

If JR Smith has effectively supported during the first two periods with his 14 points, LeBron James found himself all alone in the end game.

Mozgov limited to nine minutes

He managed to keep afloat Cavaliers with his improbable winning shots before physically and mentally assign, sickened by the Curry Festival. “They have changed their strategy from previous matches, I had more space and my teammates have made my task easier,” said the leader of the Warriors who managed his best performance the final.

“There is not much to do when (Curry) shoot like that, you just take his hat, he was extraordinary,” David Blatt admitted. The coach of Cleveland surprised by limiting time Timofey Mozgov game, author of 28 points in the previous game, only nine minutes.

The success of Golden State also owes much to Andre Iguodala (14 pts, 8 rebounds, 7 assists) and Draymond Green (16 pts, 9 rebounds, 6 assists). “This is a great team win first,” insisted Steve Kerr, the Golden State coach.

Cleveland under pressure

But the Warriors, best team in the regular and favorites for this final season, remain cautious. “Lift the fourth win in the playoffs is always the most difficult, especially when it’s for the title, but what reassures me is that we can play even better,” recalled Kerr.

“We have confidence, but it is not getting carried away. We know what needs to be done to win in Cleveland”, concluded Curry. LeBron James has another idea in mind, even though his team is back to the wall. Twice NBA champion has ever been in this situation in 2013 against San Antonio and Miami led under
