The French Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron retain their title in ice dance – Eurosport.fr


         A new coronation for granted. With their breathtaking free program, Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron were offered Thursday in Boston, with respectively 20 and 21, a second consecutive world title in ice dance. This is the never-seen in the history of French figure skating.          They now have two world titles and two European crowns to their name, and are the first to hold a world title in ice dance since doubled in 2006 and 2007 passed by the Bulgarians Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski. Their season had started badly however: Papadakis had suffered a concussion in August 2015 training, which had disrupted their preparation. Shortly before leaving Montreal, where they train since 2014, Boston, Papadakis injured her knee after receiving a shot of involuntary skating partner, an episode that ultimately did not question their domination glowing on discipline.

In the afternoon, the ladies free program gave rise to a little surprise with first place in the American Gracie Gold and disappointing 3rd place (73.76 points) of the Russian Evgenia Medvedeva prodigy, while the triple Japanese world champion Mao Asada sank to 9th place (65.87 pts).
