Paris – Cycling: Belgian Daan Myngheer death after a heart attack – Express

He lost his last race after struggling as a great champion. He died on Monday at 7:08 p.m. in the presence of his parents, his sister and his girlfriend to the hospital Ajaccio , “said his team, in a message on Facebook.

Dann Myngheer died after the death of another Belgian rider, Antoine Demoitié, 25, Sunday suffered a heavy fall in other riders company, and then hit by a motorcycle that it was on the ground, in the classic Gent-Wevelgem.

Myngheer, who would have been 23 years old on April 13, was arrested Saturday at about thirty kilometers from the finish of the first stage in Porto-Vecchio (Corse-du-Sud) International Criterium around Ajaccio. He rode in the ambulance of the race where he had a heart attack which required immediate care in an emergency.

In the afternoon, he was placed on life support (intubated and ventilated), and discharged from the polyclinic Porte-Vecchio in Ajaccio hospital, where he died Monday.

Dann Myngheer, Belgian champion junior in 2011, turned professional last year in the team Verandas Willems before joining Roubaix Lille Métropole (3rd division) this season.

In his message on Facebook, his team says: “ Daan will donate his organs to help others, it was his will .”
