Too fast, too precise, too powerful Novak Djokovic! The Serb, world No. 1, has dominated Richard Gasquet, 21st in 8th finals, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 in 2h1.

After a very early hooked match ( three games almost 25 minutes), the Djoker is out of the box, never to return. On Wednesday he will be facing him in the quarterfinals Rafael Nadal, the defending champion, nine-time winner of the tournament for a rematch of the final of last year. “Yes, I’m excited, this is the biggest challenge on clay,” admitted the Serbian.

Gasquet had warned before the meeting. “It chokes you,” explained the native of Sérignan. He made the bitter experience, overwhelmed by an opponent he has not beaten since 2007 (now eleven defeats in twelve confrontations). “He is stronger simply there is nothing else to say, it serves better, it returns better,” he sighs.

“I was leading 1-0 break point, then it was harder, “said he even joked. “He plays tennis to perfection. Typing on both sides is that every time it comes back as table tennis, “he adds. He concluded: “This is one of the greatest players of all time, it’s clear.”
