“ Scolari resigned this morning. He understood that his cycle and ability to move the team and the club coming to an end ,” said club president Romildo Bolzan at a press conference.
The boot shy of his team with only one point taken out of 6 possible and requests in vain for reinforcements might be the causes of the departure of Scolari.
Scolari, 66, had taken refuge at Gremio Porto Alegre club in his native South region, a few months after the defeat of the Selecao in the World 2014. He had taken over the reins of the Gremio team twice ( 1987, 1993) with which he won 11 titles, one Copa Libertadores in 1995.
