French Open: A report supports the draft TFF – France Info

The question of the expansion of the Roland Garros Stadium remains a problem. While the French Tennis Federation intended to use the field the Auteuil greenhouses to save space, the opposition of several association has slowed the project. These opponents proposed an alternative project based on the cover of the A13. Following this, and at the joint request of the Ministry of Ecology and the City of Paris, the FFT has ordered the firm Egis a report on each of the two projects. This 160-page report was released Monday at the Paris City Hall and its consequences show that the project supported by the FFT is “judged superior to the alternative project associations for eight of nine items, including the carbon footprint.” Regarding the coverage of the A13 project, the project would be “technically feasible (but) its negative impacts remain significant (…) and it does not respond to the major functional objectives of the FFT.” Against this draft would also have the disadvantage of imposing again “all administrative procedures already performed on the project supported by the FFT, would encounter in this process at very significant difficulties and could be the subject of litigation,” which could simply prevent completion before 2024 and the Olympic Games that Paris wants to organize.
satisfied FFT, opponents speak for
Suite scam rendering of this report, the Director General of the FFT and great patron of the organization of the Internationaux de France at Roland Garros Gilbert Ysern told his satisfaction. “Honestly, we’re not surprised, he has told AFP. The sentence of the report says, ‘do not meet the major subject of the FFT’ is against the death of the project. “A satisfaction which has obviously no echo among the opponents of the expansion project at Auteuil greenhouses. “Heritage (…) can not be an adjustment variable of the Paris City equipment policy is increasingly a city where there is very little green space, assured the AFP Alexandre Gady, president of the Society for the Protection of Landscape and Aesthetics of France. Implement a tennis 5000 in the middle seat, explaining that it’s not going to change anything in the overall scheme of the garden, it is a real scam … “Still, the findings of this report will soon be debated without vote by the Council of Paris and the FFT eagerly awaiting the building permit of the City of Paris to finally launch the modernization project and expansion of the French Open, which is the smallest website of the four Grand Slam tournaments.
