Ligue 1: Paris and Monaco behind dark – The Obs

Paris (AFP) – PSG has finished 2014 on a poor draw at home against Montpellier on Saturday and should leave Marseille and Lyon compete away Sunday the honorary title of autumn champion. Monaco for his part never stops to win.

. Paris ends at idle

It is not known if they are truly deserved but it was time for the holidays arrive to Paris St Germain, held in check (0-0) on his lawn by Montpellier (10th).

Beaten last week in Barcelona in the Champions League and in the league in Guingamp, Parisians will have therefore won only one of their last four games of the year Wednesday League Cup . against Ajaccio (L2)

Some statistics illustrate the current difficulties of the team from the capital: we must go back to January 2013 to find record of 0-0 at Parc des Princes (c ‘was against Ajaccio) and the last series of consecutive matches without scoring in Ligue 1 dated back to August 2012.

The consequences of this tie in the standings are more readable Sunday. PSG is currently second, ahead on goal difference at the Marseilles leader, who will receive Lille (13th) at 14:00.

Laurent Blanc’s team can therefore still be autumn champion if Marseille lose with more than one goal and if Lyon (3rd) beats Bordeaux (6th) in the evening (21.00) at Chaban-Delmas. But PSG can also spend the holidays in third place, which was probably not planned in the program.

The three-match between Paris, Lyon and Marseille seems in any case left to last.

. Monaco still climbs

The ASM recorded only victories in December. The Principality of players have added a sixth in all competitions on Saturday by beating Metz 1-0 with Ferreira-Carrasco, the man of the moment.

As often in this beautiful series, the team of Leonardo Jardim has relied on its defensive solidity and maximum efficiency front. Monegasques have conceded just one goal during this December and have now fallen to fifth in the standings. The podium remains at a distance, with a further four points behind Monaco for over Lyon. Metz goes wrong in 18th place.

Guingamp (12th), another team in our league form has been his side take a point in Toulouse (14th). Thibaut Giresse opened the scoring but Doumbia equalized for TFC. Ben Yedder then saw his penalty saved by Lössl.

Rennes (8th), who hoped probably hang the right car, for its part fell sharply at home against Reims (3-1). Mexer had put the Britons in mind, but Charbonnier, Strong sublime strikes and De Préville have turned the game. Reims is ninth.

. Standstill down

There was a match in Caen who felt fear among the Normans (20th) and Bastia (19th). And he had no winner (1-1), leaving Normans and Corsicans stuck in the red zone. Feret, came off the bench, still has its equalizer prevented from sinking completely Caen. But they are four points of the first non-relegation Evian-Thonon, who will play Sunday at Saint-Etienne (4th).

Lorient also made a bad deal in losing 2-1 against the Moustoir Nantes (7th). Hake of the Jordan Ayew, striker, sold on the goals of Bammou and Audel. They are 15th with just one point margin of the relegation zone Metz
