Top 14: the French stage off a dull Toulon – L’Express

The Parisian club, with 44 points, now has two steps ahead of the Var (2nd) and three in Clermont (3rd). It can also be satisfied with taking the particular difference in RCT, already beaten 28-24 on the way to Mayol, an advantage that could be decisive at the time of the end of season accounts.

This uneven quality of the game, we particularly note the first half hour controlled men of Gonzalo Quesada and last four minutes conducted briskly. Despite ten minutes played against 13 to 15 late in the first period, the French stage then gradually faded and the second period proved lackluster overall.

It must be said that the RCT with a mixed team combining managers and regular substitutes, proposed a very messy opposition sometimes undisciplined and away from its highest standards.

No doubt the manager will wait Laporte better of his troops in Montpellier next Saturday for a meeting that looks attractive given the internal climate stirred in the Hérault.

Var will cure their particular began, which was not the case at Jean-Bouin. Completely smothered by the Parisians, they saw Sergio Parisse collapse in their in-goal in the 4th minute after a nice collective movement.

Trailing 7-0, they then suffered enormously to the ground where the Paris imposed its pack law. Foot, Jules Plisson added three penalties to bring the lead to 16-0 in the 28th minute.

The table was idyllic for Parisians if they had not then suddenly extinguished as paralyzed by their numerical superiority offered by yellow cards in quick Matias Cortese (27th, high tackle on Julien Tomas) and Virgil Bruni (28th, for lack of anti-backlash on Jules Plisson).

This adversity even had the gift of putting a boost to Toulon which marked their first points on a drop of Nicolas Sanchez (33) and a penalty of Leigh Halfpenny (39).

Not having killed the game on time, Parisians found themselves mired in a second period brackish, to testing at the end of the back of the match replacing Jeremy Sinzelle (76) and the pillar zurabi Zhvania (80) that sealed a victory enhanced somewhat unexpected.

Toulon side, you could regret the missed two drops of Sanchez and a missed penalty Halfpenny that could have given another twist to a party to remember.
