Lyon, still … – Sports.fr

The Lyonnais despite a good first period, lost 2-0 Wednesday at home against Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League (fourth day of Group H). They would need a miracle to qualify, and even the repechage in the Europa League becomes extremely uncertain.

It was (almost) imperative. Lyon, the last Group H without success, had to beat Zenit St Petersburg, who held the head of the hen after three consecutive wins to continue to dream of the knockout stages of the Champions League. It is (good) missed since the OL, who decidedly not learn from our recent errors (defensive mistakes, wasted opportunities), was beaten 2-0 at Gerland on Wednesday.

His dream moves away each time a little more, more and more, and that of Jean-Michel Aulas to play a C1 match in the new stadium of the Enlightenment, early 2016. While away “only” because yes, the club Rhone, although it is not really at, is mathematically eliminated yet (!), Gent is being imposed at the same time at home to Valencia CF (1-0) . Meanwhile, third place synonymous with qualification for the Europa League is moving away, too …

As expected, on his lawn is Lyon who takes possession of the ball, while the Zenith St. Petersburg operates against. But, as too often this season, OL, no real offensive move (Nabil Fekir sorely lacking, but also the old Alexandre Lacazette …), does not cause enough shifts, alas for him.

The Russian club take this opportunity to begin to plant a few banderillas, through his “Monsieur Plus’ Hulk (18th) followed his captain Danny (21st). Samuel Umtiti and ensure Anthony Lopes. However, they are taken aback with Henri Bedimo, in the opener of the large Artyom Dzyuba (0-1, 25th). On what ? On an attack against a third, good. Hubert Fournier’s players dominated the first leg (3-1), however, were warned …

And there, the same scenario as against Valencia (0-1) is repeated, with many opportunities for equalize. No result. Sergi Darder (19th, 45th + 1), Bedimo (23rd), Corentin Tolisso (30th) and even Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa (32) missing all four of realism … or success, in the image of the bar touched by Bedimo (36th), preferred to kick off at Jérémy Morel, especially for its speed. You will note however that the trio Mathieu Valbuena-Alexandre Lacazette-Claudio Beauvue is almost completely absent from the debates …

At the time of the party, it nevertheless says it’s cruel to Gones. But ultimately not that much when you see them in the second period of lower intensity and that devil of a Dzyuba launched by Hulk, double putting on yet another against (0-2, 57th) … The expulsion of Maxime Gonalons (72), the arm cuff, is anecdotal, like that of Alexander Anioukov (89th), men of André Villas-Boas. And after this sad event, Yanga-Mbiwa will be denied a goal for offside (90 + 1). When it does not …
