Zlatan Ibrahimovic as “play football and that the farm!” – L’Express

“Those who think that France is a shitty country can leave it. It’s as simple as that.” After skidding Zlatan Ibrahimovic Sunday night, the president of the FN Marine Le Pen has reinvented the term “France, you love it or leave it” Monday morning on France Info. At the end of the match lost to Bordeaux (3-2), the PSG star has indeed spoken of “a shitty country” that “does not deserve the PSG” on Sunday.

“This is unacceptable kind of football star’s whim. That play football and that the farm!” Retorted Jerome Guedj, president of the PS Essonne Europe 1 . “How to get respect for referees in amateur games if professional (overpaid!) are totally disrespectful?” added François de Rugy, co-chair of EELV group in the National Assembly.

The tone is more muted on the official account of the Sports Minister Philippe Kanner. “The disappointment of Ibrahimovic does not justify his offensive vis-à-vis the referee and the country hosting. He will have to apologize,” he has written. The Minister then welcomed the apology from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, adding on iTV he had no “to demand punishment” but that “when you are a great champion, exemplary must be an inviolable rule.” And hope that there will be “no further slippage” on the part of the player … which is yet not at his first attempt.

Bruno Le Maire has also been invited to comment on the controversy on iTV. A controversy “totally useless” in the eyes of the UMP, more concerned to discuss future departmental elections. “He apologized, end of story.”
