The Irish won their second consecutive Tournament of 6 Nations after their victory in Scotland (10-40) and with better points difference than England (63 against 57), which has become “only” 55-35 against France. A first for 66 years!

The organizer of the RBS 6 Nations decided to send the official trophy next to Twickenham, where England, before that first day on Saturday, received the France 18 hours and thus had most likely to lift the Grail. As a precaution, a replica was still placed at Murrayfield, when Ireland moved with still a chance to finish first in the event of victory over Scotland … Very good!

Forced to prevail largely Scottish land after the defeat of Italy face Wales (20-61), the Irish have found the way to the opponent’s end in Edinburgh at the best of times. The XV Clover has fulfilled its part of the bargain, scoring four tries, as much as in his first four matches to come and win 40-10 deal with Scottish exceeded by Vern Cotter. Consequently, their fate was no longer in their hands, but between that of the French.

With a difference of 63 points, Ireland had just hope that England, with its 37 difference, does not win with 26 points gap against the Blues. After 80 minutes of high bill certainly spent tremble before their TV before the crossover between English and French, the Irish will certainly pay a Guinness players PSA, beaten 55-35 after having given everything in an anthology game.

After his victory in the tournament last year, already through better points difference than England (83 against 73), Ireland, future opponent of the Blues in the Cup the world, managed a far from trivial doubled in a few months the World and leaves again on XV de la Rose in second place for the fourth consecutive year. The Irish and win the tournament for the second year in a row, an unprecedented performance since successfully doubled in 1948-1949 …! Meanwhile, Ireland had indeed won the tournament in 1982 but had subsequently had to share first place in 1983 with France …
