The Warriors destroy Cleveland – Sports.fr

The remake of the last NBA Finals between Cleveland and Golden State turned to the correction for the Cavaliers, 98-132 spanked after a one-sided game.

The Cavaliers were right: the Warriors do not respect anything. The morning of the game, the Cavs had indeed pointed to the words of Stephen Curry in the preamble of reunion between the last two NBA finalists. “I hope the locker room for visitors to the Quicken Loans Arena still feel the champagne,” had launched the California leader to remind the coronation won by Golden State in Ohio. A little dig that was nothing compared to the incredible victory won by the men of Luke Walton on the floor of the Cavs.

For if the first leg between the two teams, on Christmas Day, had after all was balanced, the Warriors nevertheless imposing 89-83 after leading the race, this second confrontation resulted in an amazing show of strength defending champions. So much so that Cleveland will have an illusion that 45 seconds, time for LeBron James to answer a dunk by Stephen Curry. Following the meeting would indeed be one-way and less than two minutes later, after the first two to three points of banderillas Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Golden State already had ten lengths ahead. At the break, the gap had already reached the 26 points (44-70) and even crossed the 40 units at the start of the home stretch (69-109). The garbage-time nevertheless allowed the Cavs to stop the bleeding, the Warriors eventually winning 98-132.

XXL success that has obviously resulted in a new recital by Stephen Curry, MVP League multiplying the banderillas (very) long distance to finish with 35 points in just 28 minutes with a 12 of 18 shooting, including 7 of 12 three-pointers. At his side, his friend Klay Thompson could settle for 15 points to 5 of 11 Draymond Green compile 16 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds and Andre Iguodala, the MVP of the last Finals, remember the good memories of Cavs by signing 20 points in 24 minutes to 7 of 8 shots. Conversely, Cleveland side, it was obviously the soup grimace, like a LeBron James to just 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Kevin Love especially a blocked 3-point 1 of 5 or Kyrie Irving limited to 8 points in 3 of 11.

And while the Warriors finally seemed less imperial than in the first two months, Californians having bowed a few days in Denver and Detroit, the defending champions could not imagine a better focus. Despite the excellent first half of the season in San Antonio, Golden State remains the best team in the league.
