7th stage: Cavendish sign his return – France Info

STEP OF THE DAY
Cavendish sign his return

Cav is back! Two years after his last victory in the Tour de France, Mark Cavendish has found success this Friday at Fougeres. The British 30 years, forced to retire last year at the 2nd stage, at home in England, after a fall, and a bit in the shadow of Kristoff, Greipel and Sagan since the beginning of season, proved he was still one of the best sprinters in the world by winning for the 27th time in the Tour de France. Only Eddy Merckx (34) and Bernard Hinault (28) did better now … On the occasion of this second bunch sprint of the Tour 2015, Cavendish took the best of Andre Greipel, who have had no party to win a third stage, and Peter Sagan, decidedly subscriber places of honor but, thanks to subsidies, is just eleven seconds of Chris Froome.
For a time this year The stage was could not be more calm, with a long breakaway, taken 20km from the finish, and a sprint finish. No drop point, except those minor Alberto Contador and Robert Gesink before the actual departure. Kristjan Durasek (Lampre), Luis Agnel Mate (Cofidis), Anthony Delaplace, Brice Feillu (Brittany Séché Environnement) and Daniel Teklehaimanot (MTN-Qhubeka) made up the breakaway and had up to 3’50 of advance. 30 km from the finish, Delaplace attacked, which was to let go Teklehaimanot, who quickly joined the pack. The fugitives have logically been caught by the sprinters teams (Etixx – Quick Step, Lotto-Soudal, Europcar, FDJ …)., Who did not want to miss one of the few opportunities to win the sprint before very long

THE FRENCH
Still no French victory on the Tour de France 2015. As usual, the traffic was in front, but none managed to cross the finish line first. Step arriving in Brittany, the riders of the Séché Environnement Britain team were very motivated and Anthony Delaplace and Brice Feuillu placed themselves in the break of the day. In vain … The acceleration 30km Delaplace’s arrival did not help, and he quietly finished 55 seconds Cavendish. Everything is played in the sprint, and only one French managed to climb into the Top 10: Arnaud Démare. Bryan Coquart finishes him 12th, ahead of Florian Vachon (13) and Geoffrey Soupe (15th) among others. In general, Tony Gallopin is 4th at 26 seconds of Chris Froome and may have something to play Saturday in Mur de Bretagne. Warren Barguil is 10th at 1’07.

THE LIFE OF JERSEYS
Yellow jersey (leader General): Chris Froome

Makes extremely rare on the Tour de France, no rider wearing the Yellow Jersey on Friday. The former leader Tony Martin who crossed the finish line Thursday before giving up due to broken collarbone, Chris Froome was not allowed to wear the yellow jersey at the start. The British would have anyway not out of respect for the German wheeler. But he will do well on Saturday on the Breton routes because Froome is officially again became leader of the Tour on Friday, after a quiet stage, compared to previous … Remember that Froome had already worn this jersey on Monday before s’ make dispossess Tony Martin
Green jersey (points classification). Andre Greipel
second step and for once beaten in a sprint on the Tour de France Andre Greipel retains the green jersey of the points classification. But Peter Sagan is only 12 points and Mark Cavensish back to 48 points. On Saturday, the stage may be more conducive to that Greipel Sagan, so a handover is possible
Polka Dot Jersey (the best climber). Daniel Teklehaimanot
first black African to wear a distinctive jersey in the Tour de France, the Eritrean has been acclaimed throughout the stage, and to celebrate, he left in a breakaway, as before. No doubt tired from his exploits, Teklehaimanot dropped when Delaplace accelerated. The best climber took the only point in the game this Friday, at the top of the Côte de Canapville and thus retain his polka dot jersey on Saturday when two ribs are new to the program.
white jersey (best young ): Peter Sagan
Third step and now second overall at eleven seconds of Chris Froome, Peter Sagan retains the white jersey. A white jersey that could be yellow … Saturday
Combative step: Anthony Delaplace
Party early step along with four other riders, Anthony Delaplace s is very active and tried to revive the breakaway late stage, even if it was a failure
Saturday, July 11, 2015: Rennes – Mur de Bretagne (181,5km)
