The race can -she be restarted?
Some said yesterday that the Tower was bent. Froome has dealt a blow with his superb victory at the finish on La Pierre Saint-Martin.
Can the tour be revived? Is there still a bit of suspense? There are six mountain stages in the program. Six crucial steps that will see if Froome will drive the point.
It will particularly monitor the last 80 kilometers of today’s stage. The sequence of Aspin and Tourmalet passes, then the little ramp leading to Cauterets, lends itself to surprises. Froome in there to benefit once again, teach a lesson to his rivals?
One thing is certain there will be many on the side of the road to follow this step that will, or not, to revive the Tour. Once again, the Béarnaise city will be in the heart of the Tour de France. The riders will start from Pau to noon.
