F1: Rosberg dominates debates in Spain – The World

Nico Rosberg won Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix disputed in Catalonia.

The German Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) won the Spanish Grand Prix Formula 1, Sunday, May 10 at the Circuit de Catalunya, before his British teammate Lewis Hamilton, who still leads the world championship, and another German, Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari).

This is the first victory of Rosberg in 2015, following its first pole position of the season. Vice world champion has made an excellent start and perfectly managed his race with a two-stop strategy (three saves for Hamilton), to the 66 th and final round.

As a direct result, Rosberg returns to 20 points Hamilton in the championship, while looming one of his favorite Grands Prix under his windows in a fortnight in Monaco. The podium was completed for the fourth time this season, in five races, with Vettel, whose Ferrari, for all its progress, could not go for the Silver Arrows.

At the nap time, before 86,700 spectators, there was not much suspense to the places of honor. Valtteri Bottas (Williams) failed off the podium, but one minute from Rosberg, and won the minichampionnat of Finland against Kimi Raikkonen in the other Ferrari, while the Top 6 was completed by Felipe Massa in the other Williams.

Much further back, one lap, the Australian Daniel Ricciardo, revelation of last season (three wins) has had the merit to classify his Red Bull-Renault to 7 th place the best he could hope for, before the Lotus of Romain Grosjean.

Exceeding the day, to the delight of local fans was the work of the Spanish Carlos Sainz Jr beginner, at the expense of Russian Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull). It was the last lap, finally a nice weekend of F1 in the sun, but without much suspense.
