The Brittany Coach Jocelyn Gourvennec decided to forego Claudio Beauvue well as Sylvain Marveaux, already out of the group in Kiev, while Lionel Mathis started the game on the bench. Christophe Mandanne evolved only in line with Jérémy Pied in support, while Thibault Giresse and Marcus Coco occupied the flanks.

During the first minutes, Guingamp aissét the initiative to attack the Nantais moribund – a goal in seven games. A strategy that has resulted in a very poor game offensively and could have been paid for the red and black, as the premises were unable to approach the opposing surface in good conditions.

6 YELLOW IN 45 MINUTES

The first period appeared very choppy, bad gestures multiplying. The referee has distributed six yellow cards in the first 45 minutes, for only two notable actions: a ball stolen by Mandanne to Papy Mison Djilobodji, but put into the side netting Remy Riou, and crushed but on target Serge Gakpé 25 meters, stabbed by Jonas Lössl.

In the second period, Nantes showed a slightly better face, while Guingamp seemed increasingly tired. The pace came with the entry of Yacine Bammou to the 55 th minute, instead of Ismael Bangoura, to boost the attack of the Canaries. Successful change to this superb action at the 68 th minute when his shot Bammou crosses Lössl face, too short. Nantes leads 1-0. The same Bammou very nearly doubled the success fifteen minutes from the end, taking advantage of a scramble in the guingampaise surface but it was countered in extremis.

At the very end of the match, Guingamp tried the all out, especially with an attempt to Thibault Giresse in injury time. But without success. The final score is still 1-0 in favor of Nantes. Guingamp players only have a few days to recover before the quarter-final of the Coupe de France against the CFA team Concarneau.
