Bianchi remains in intensive care – The Equipe.fr

In a statement released Tuesday afternoon by the Marussia team, parents Jules Bianchi said their son remained in intensive care in hospital in Yokkaichi, two days after being involved in a serious accident during the Grand Prix Japan. The French driver, aged 25, suffering from diffuse axonal injury, that is to say, a severe form of brain injury. His condition is still critical but stable. “ This is a very difficult time for our family , continued parents Bianchi. But the messages of support and affection from all over the world have been a great comfort to us. (…) The doctors are providing the best care and we are grateful for all what they did for Jules since his accident.

We also thank Professor Gérard Saillant (former chief of orthopedic surgery and traumatology of the Pitie-Salpetriere ) and Professor Alessandro Frati (neuro-surgeon at the University of Roma La Sapienza) who visited Japan. They arrived at the hospital today. (…) They recognized the quality of care and thanked their Japanese colleagues. The hospital will continue to monitor and treat Jules. Further information will be communicated in due time , “the statement said. Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix, run in heavy rain, Jules Bianchi was violently off the track.
