Boxing Day: Arsenal humiliated, United swept – Europe1

As usual, the Boxing Day has been dramatic Saturday. Arsenal could take the lead in the Premier League on success in Southampton, was left on a run of six league games without a win, and, thanks to the unusual setback leader Leicester Liverpool (1-0) also early. But the Gunners were humiliated 4-0 and stay second in the standings.

Manchester continues its Black Series . With a ranking of fourth loss in all competitions, a first for the club since 1961, Manchester United was again defeated Stoke (2-0). The pressure on the shoulders of Louis Van Gaal, the Dutch coach, is stronger than ever, eighteen months after his arrival.

The other club in town, Manchester City, has meanwhile revived at home against Sunderland (4-1). At the same time, Chelsea had to settle for a draw against Watford (2-2) for the first game of Guus Hiddink on the bench, after the departure of José Mourinho.
