Chelsea head to the guillotine! – Sports.fr

Not far from beheaded … After a fantastic derby Thursday, Chelsea was defeated on the field of Tottenham (5-3). Jose Mourinho’s men are now perfect equality with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

Imagine a play-off between the two leaders of the Premier League to decide the name of the champion. This would happen if we put an end to the English season after the 20th day. On this first day of 2015, Chelsea is not only leader after being slapped by Tottenham (5-3) in a White Hart Lane on fire for this London derby. Worse, the last goal of the Blues by John Terry (87th) allowed them to “return” to perfect equality with Manchester City, with the same goal difference and the same number of achievements, the British rules do not deciding between the teams in this such cases.

Already kept in check in Southampton last Sunday (1-1), Jose Mourinho’s men still lacked application despite their offensive phase three outcomes. Diego Costa has yet opened the scoring (18th), following an acceleration of Eden Hazard, who then helped keep some suspense in the second half (61 ‘). The Belgian was again too lonely to play effectively. Cesc Fabregas really lacked concentration despite its 14th Assist on the goal of the former Lille and incoming Ramires and Mohamed Salah were not better than the incumbents Willian and Oscar.

Above John Terry and his teammates have not been able to cope with the absolutely sublime performance from Harry Kane. The miracle of 21, who won a point at the expense of Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor since last August, hit hard with a double. It was he who equalized – alone as a new star – a perfect shot from 20 meters (30th), before getting the penalty of 3-1, transformed by Andros Townsend (45 + 4) and beat Thibaut Courtois again after a superb control pivot early in the second period (52).

The Londoner, which should quickly integrate the England team, has completed his performance with an assist for Nacer Chadli ( 78th). The Belgian winger is the other big man in the formation of Mauricio Pochettino, since he had hit the post at the 2nd base signed Danny Rose (44th). Beset on all sides and unable to contain the opposing center forward, Chelsea exhibited significant defensive deficiencies and lack of cohesion. The Blues have not lost the top spot, but it’s like after this defeat.
