Saint-Etienne won against Stade Rennais in the 24th day of Ligue 1 after a tasteless game.

Christophe Galtier (coach of Saint-Etienne): This is an important victory over a direct rival in a hectic schedule. After our content in the game against Paris (2-0 for PSG, ed), he had to find the right balance in order to contain the opponent, play and score. We managed to contain the opponent, it was able to play, we asked our good game, but unfortunately we have not managed to translate number of balloons in position through offensive fire. We had a lot of firing positions where they did not dare. It has also failed, in my view, presence and aggressiveness in the number of centers that we had. It would have been damaging to us, compared to what my players produced tonight, losing that game. We broke the deadlock on a set piece. It repositions us in interesting areas, it allows us to redépassser our opponent in the evening and it will give us morale and determination

Rolland Courbis (Rennes coach.): If you think about the number of goals (vs. Bordeaux), for sure it is an improvement. (The disappointment comes) not just the defeat but the content of our first half in particular, which is not even very average … it’s worse than that. And, strangely, we lose this game in the period when there was the least bad. There is not much time to prepare Lille and it is perhaps no worse, and especially still 14 matches to demonstrate that we have a different level than what we have shown during these six mid- time, whether against Gazélec, either in Bordeaux or whether tonight. That gives us hope to be able to demonstrate that we can do no better, because it is not complicated to do better, but to do much better. I have questions for me and I find myself asking, of course, but what is needed above all is that I have the answers to the questions I ask myself.
