Test match: After boredom, a (very) small victory – France Info

Two weeks ago, it was with relief and pleasure that we wrote that the XV of France had found certainty and allure against England. But the truth of yesterday is not necessarily that of today. And two weeks before the World Cup, the situation is finally the same as three years ago: the men of Philippe Saint-Andre are still too many gaps. This Saturday night, for their last preparation match, Thierry Dusautoir’s teammates were imposed against Scotland (19-16). A small victory snatched late in the game thanks to a test Noa Nakaitaci. at the end of a tedious and messy match, where the French showed weaknesses too, like captain Thierry Dusautoir, not in rhythm.
Fortunately, there is Huget
For beyond their suit, the French were well into the red face Scots more players. It’s simple, the game, the Blues have never sent this Saturday night. By flashes, Huget (clearly necessary today), Bastareaud Spedding and allowed the public to the Stade de France to ignite a little. But for an hour, it is the strikers who competed on an equally laborious lawn. Laidlaw, more accurate blade Michalak, allowed XV of the Thistle to race in the lead until the 59th. A Scottish striker helped by the indiscipline tricolor: conceded eight penalties in the first period (against England a fortnight ago, France had conceded only seven in the whole game)! Even melee, where France had shown a net return to form in recent weeks, the machine is out of adjustment …
The plume was
Brilliant Scottish against the English, Frédéric Michalak was disappointing in the direction of the game and in releases. And then to the 61st, a Scottish trial came penalize clumsiness of the Blues in the final pass. Following a loose ball in the opposing 22 meters, the French are left with against surprise after a long shot skimming foot. Not yet relocated to the rear, Spedding was beaten by Seymour, author of the first night test. Fortunately for Philippe Saint-André and his players, Noa Nakaitaci had kept some juice to punch the opposing defensive line five minutes from time: 19-16, final score. A small victory that French Scots players to the end, could turn into a draw if they had chosen to hit the penalty awarded in injury time. Victory is French, but the plume it was Scotland. And in two weeks of his first appointment in the World Cup (against Italy), France has displayed for all to see incredible gaps. For in the final seconds, it is to “hold” which he was about. Against Scotland. At home …
