Ligue 1: Marseille to new leader after his victory against Bordeaux – The World

Michy Batshuayi scored the third goal from Marseille on Sunday night against Bordeaux.

This has however taken much for the Marseillais do steal their place, as they have been slow to score to take the advantage over Bordeaux. Shoulder to shoulder with the Girondins until the fifth minute before the end of the game, Marseille were finally able to win thanks to goals from Gignac (85 th ) and Batshuayi (89 th ).

OM remained a setback in the clasico in Paris (2-0), and a series of three games without a win (with the one in the League Cup ). Sunday, Marcelo Bielsa had to reshape his team due to the unavailability of the four holders (Nkoulou, Morel, Romao, Ayew), which may explain the difficulty of the team to get into the game with a first quarter delicate hour.

25 SHOTS MARSEILLAIS

Bordeaux opened the scoring by Toure aligned instead of Diabaté (unavailable) and judiciously offset Maurice-Belay (55 th ). The Gironde joy was short-lived, since OM equalized soon after by Lemina, author of the first goal in L1 his career a head a cross from Payet (60 th ).

Marseille did not let the pressure with a whopping total of some 25 shots on goal. As a symbol of this team forge ahead, Gignac found the net, with a header from a corner (85 th ). The center forward, who had remained silent during his last three matches (five if you count those for France), marked where the 11 th goal in L1 and so joined at the head scorer Lyonnais Lacazette.
