Lacazette made history – Sports.fr

The mad season Alexandre Lacazette has taken a new dimension Sunday on the lawn of Reims. In the Lyon victory (2-4), OL striker scored the second goal, becoming the top scorer in the history of the club on a season, bringing its total to 26.

Les Gones will long remember the 2014/2015 season. First, because Lyon still holds a candle to PSG for the title of champion of France. With four games remaining, OL can believe the feat. Then, because Hubert Fournier has a true gem to lead his attack, Alexandre Lacazette. The 23-year-old has enjoyed success in Reims to enter the club history books.

With his goal on a serving Clinton Njie (6th), the Lyon striker is in 26 goals this season in Ligue 1. A total which places high on the ranking of the hexagon gunners. But more surprisingly, Alexandre Lacazette also becomes the most efficient scorer on a championship season in the history of OL. The attacker drove past André Guy (25 goals in 1968/69).

In this ranking, Alexandre Lacazette is found even well ahead of Karim Benzema (20 goals in 2007/08), beating Sony Anderson ( 23 goals in 1999/2000) or Bernard Lacombe (24 goals in 1977/78). The top scorer in Ligue 1, who played “only” 30 games this season, still has four games to improve its brand.
