Manchester City – Dynamo Kiev (0-0): City has not forced to accept the first quarter – Eurosport.fr

Manchester City is in the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the first time in its history and this is the only lesson of the evening. After a soporific match and devoid of spectacle, City and Dynamo Kiev played out a draw logic (0-0). The Citizens have fully capitalized on their win the match in Ukraine (1-3). The party is, however, somewhat marred for City, who saw his decimated central defense. The English club lost Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi injured after less than 30 minutes.

After five minutes of battle in midfield, the first highlight of the match came from a seemingly innocuous action. Deceived by a body feint Oleg Gusev, Vincent Kompany is injured by resuming its support to prevent his opponent to open the way to goal (5th). By collapsing immediately and displaying a resigned face, the Belgian has immediately showed he was severely affected. His premature exit in favor of Eliaquim Mangala plunged the meeting into a false pace.

Apart from a good center of Clichy towards Agüero, both teams were totally harmless in the first quarter of an hour. And the second is … match was the injury the second central defender City, Otamendi, in a duel with Buyalskiy (15th). After attempting to take his place, Argentina’s resigned himself to go out (24th). The match, however, has continued to play a little rhythm. He then had to wait 63 minutes and a striking Yarmolenko to see the first attempt on goal of the match. Before that, Navas had procured the best chance of the game by finding the post with a long shot (61).

Apparently resigned to view its deficit from the first leg, Kiev attempted to revive quickly realizing three changes. But the entrants did not bring madness blows on this lackluster encounter. Apart breakthroughs Yaya Touré (73), full of good intentions but never conclusive and dribbling Agüero (79th), the public did not have much to put in their mouths. As for Joe Hart, he had to wait until the last minute and a shot from point blank Yarmolenko (90 + 4) to showcase his reflexes. Avoiding defeat to his team, the City goalkeeper has avoided making the historic night in Manchester even more gloomy.
