The monster draw: Real, Barca, Bayern
On paper, just the top three teams. And the first three clubs in the UEFA rankings, in that order, too. This does not tell the whole of their formidable track record and their remarkable regularity since the existence of the European Cups, but enough of their excellent results in recent seasons League champions. Real, Barca and Bayern are quite clear references among the teams already qualified at this stage of the race. They are the only ones among the last eight contenders, having lifted the trophy for ten years. For PSG and Monaco, fall on one of these three teams would prestigious posters, reunion, winks … and reduced chances of qualifying.

The draw cursed forever: Juventus
Do not look. No French club has qualified on a knockout round face Juventus in the European Cup. It happened ten times, counting the Intertoto Cup and the Old Lady passed each time (see below). If there is a cursed club tricolor training, it’s him. Especially for PSG eliminated a European Cup three times by the Piedmontese team and humiliated by these Bianconeri in European Supercup in 1996 including a crushing defeat at the Parc des Princes (1-6) .

The trap draw but more affordable than it looks: Atlético Madrid
Atlético Madrid has not only references, having been Spanish champion and finalist in the Champions League last year. It is also feared by his defensive quality and fighting spirit, embodied by his coach Diego Simeone. And for his talent, the French Antoine Griezmann is the best representative this season. Colchoneros but are not in their best shape. Their laborious qualification against Leverkusen (0-1, 1-0, 3-2 on pens) and difficulties in La Liga, they only occupy fourth place, evidenced.

The trap draw but more dangerous than it looks: FC Porto
FC Porto is certainly the most overlooked team among those still competing in the Champions League. While the club has a culture of European competitions, a collective quality and high technical level. And he does often not the French. Monaco known for having lived the disappointment of losing heavily, a final of the Champions League against the Portuguese in 2004 (3-0). And as a reminder, Porto has deprived France one more representative C1 this season after removing dams Lille (1-0, 2-0).

The draw “slinging , half grape “PSG-Monaco
Great or regrettable, it is a question of sensitivity … A PSG Monaco in the quarterfinals of course guarantee the presence of a tri club in the last four of the Champions League, as it would deprive France of the possibility of two clubs in the semifinals. We have already seen two Franco-French confrontation in the European Cup, one of which concerned that Monaco, released by OM in 8th finals of the UEFA Cup 1998-99 (2-2, 1-0). The other saw the qualification of Lyon at the expense of Bordeaux in the quarter finals of the 2009-10 Champions League (3-1, 0-1).
