Claudio Caçapa will join the coaching staff of Olympique Lyonnais coach defenders, the club announced Thursday. Former defender aged 39, Caçapa who played in Lyon in January 2001 to 2007 and is currently assistant coach of Saudi club Al-Qadisiyah, will sign early next week a one year minimum, specified OL in a statement.
Former club captain, Caçapa was six times champion of France with OL. He had won the League Cup in 2001 by scoring the first goal in the final against Lyon Monaco.
The current OL advanced to 9th place in the championship, five points behind the podium Thursday appointed Bruno Genesio last as replacement coach Hubert Fournier he was deputy.
